Nancy (Toppins) Shannon passed peacefully with loved ones at her side on January 9, 2018. Nancy was born to John and Bette Toppins in Appleton on April 26, 1956. She married her best friend, Bob Shannon, on August 12, 1978. Together they had two children, Megan Shannon Larson and Mike Shannon. They gave Bob and Nancy two grandchildren who she absolutely adored, Bentley Larson and Aiden Shannon. Nancy loved to dance, to laugh, and to help others. She worked with autistic children for many years and volunteered in various capacities at her children’s schools. Her ambition in life was to be a loving wife, Mom, Dubby, and to make a home for her family.  She was blessed to have realized her dream! ?Aside from her husband, children, and grandchildren Nancy is survived by her siblings: Mike (Linda) Toppins; Pat (Patti Schultz) Toppins; Dan (Sandi) Toppins; Mary K. Toppins; John (Mary) Toppins; Chris (Jeff) Bushner. She is survived by Bob’s siblings: Pat (Merrilee) Shannon; Mary Shannon; Joanne Shannon, Cathy Shannon and Tom Kearin; and her very dear Aunt Ronnë. Nancy is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and many wonderful friends. Her constant companion CoCo, her pup, also survives her. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents (John and Bette Toppins), Bob’s parents (Jim and Katie Shannon), Bob’s brothers Jim and Ray Shannon, Nancy’s Aunt Thelma and Uncle Louie, and her cousin Terri Lee. A memorial visitation for Nancy will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior St., Appleton). A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM.
