Ralph E. Werbelow, 82, of Beaver Dam passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Wm. S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Madison.

Ralph was born the son of Ernest and Ethel (Haase) Werbelow on April 13, 1935 in Beaver Dam. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Ralph was married to Linda Homan on April 20, 1968 at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Ralph served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany during the German Occupation from 1954 – 1956 where he was able to explore much of Europe. After the service, he owned and operated a pizza parlor in Merrill, WI for seven years. Afterwards, he moved back to Beaver Dam and was employed with Beaver Specialties. In 1971, he began his employment with Kraft Foods of Beaver Dam and continued until his retirement in 1996.

Ralph was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed bowling. Ralph loved golf and played many Wisconsin golf courses. The last few years activities were limited but he enjoyed puzzles, coupon clipping and shopping and watching and feeding the birds. He enjoyed watching sports, especially college football and golf. Ralph loved children and was a wonderful and caring father.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Linda of Beaver Dam; his children: Stephanie Werbelow and Matthew Werbelow both of Beaver Dam; his sister-in-law, Connie Werbelow of Idaho; his brothers-in-law, Ronald (Judy) Homan of Fond du Lac and Larry Homan of Waupun; a special niece, Lauren Barnett of Beaver Dam; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Russell; and his two sisters: Beatrice (Edward) Maas and Kathy (Rev. William) Staab.

A memorial gathering will be held at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 12 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. at the church. Military honors conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146 will immediately follow the service at the church. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family to be directed to the charities of Ralph's choice.
